Coming from a strong marketing and strategic management background, Claire holds a Bachelor of Commerce and has had extensive experience across the government, corporate and small business sector.
As co-owner of Starfish Business Solutions, she works with Indigenous and mainstream businesses assisting with strategic planning, research, product development, business planning, marketing, accreditation and financial analysis.
Prior to setting up Starfish, Claire worked with husband Adrian to manage a multi award winning Aboriginal community owned wilderness camp, Kooljaman at Cape Leveque. During this time Claire was an elected Board Member of Australia’s North West Tourism and established extensive networks in the tourism industry.
Claire has also held the position of Marketing Manager for Perth Airport as well as a number of senior marketing positions in small and large organisations, including Telstra.
Claire has recently been appointed to sit on the Federal Governments Small Business Advisory Committee. She has a breadth of experience across a number of industries including retail, tourism, hospitality and contracting services.
In addition to working with a vast number of small and aspiring business owners, her government clients have included Tourism Australia, Tourism Western Australia, Indigenous Business Australia, DEEWR, Shire of Upper Gascoyne.
She has also worked with a number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous associations including Tourism Council WA, Ardi Indigenous Tourism Operators Association and Kullarri Regional CDEP Inc.
