Planning Minister Rita Saffioti commissioned independent planner Evan Jones to review the State Planning system, which has been criticised by residents as unfair and by developers as being inefficient and expensive.
A Green Paper has been developed by the Planning Reform team, proposing five key reform areas – strategically-led, legible, transparent, efficient and delivering smart growth. The Green Paper collect ideas and proposes solutions. It identified widespread frustration with WA’s outdated, complicated planning regime.
The Minister has released the paper for public comment.
All feedback will help inform the preparation of a White Paper that will be provided to the State Government for consideration.

Submissions close 5pm, Friday 20 July 2018.
