A-glamping we will go, as Centennial Park seeks overnighters:
This spring you could wake to the sound of thudding horse hooves and squawking ibis, wash your face in a marble sink and step out directly into the sylvan splendour that is Centennial Park on a Sunday morning, without the multimillion-dollar price tag of a house on Lang Road.
OK, maybe not the marble sink. But Centennial Park will soon be open to overnight campers under a master plan proposal to find new sources of income.
Submissions are sought from tourism operators ready to offer an ''experience stay'' to campers which might involve horse-riding, cycling and wildlife tours. The historic ranger's cottage and superintendent's residence will also be turned into boutique hotel-style accommodation under the plan.
